Authors SAMPMEDS MEDLINE (R) Advanced SAMPUIGP ULRICH'S INTERNATIONAL PERIODICALS In order to work around this problem and successfully install these database subsets, you must FTP the new files and perform a magnetic link installation. The instructions below assume that ERL is running on UNIX. If you are running ERL on Windows NT, the files also need to be replaced. The steps that refer to changing file ownerships and permissions will not apply. We apologize for the inconvenience that this problem may cause and we encourage you to contact technical support (support@silverplatter.com) if you have any questions. If you are installing these databases for the first time, please skip to the section titled: "INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING DATABASE SUBSETS WITH NEW FILES." IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED ONE OF THESE DATABASES: 1. Start the dbserver menu 2. Select 3. Unmount Database(s) 3. Unmount the following databases: SAMPBOIP, SAMPGCTA, SAMPMEDS, SAMPUIGP 4. Select 6. Database Installation 5. Select 2. Remove 6. Remove the following databases: SAMPBOIP, SAMPGCTA, SAMPMEDS, SAMPUIGP 7. Continue with the installation instruction below: INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING DATABASE SUBSETS WITH NEW FILES. 1. On your ERL server delete the following files from the SAMPBOIP, SAMPGCTA, SAMPMEDS and SAMPUIGP directories located in /sproot/nodes/disk#/traindbs/: SAMPBOIP.DFF and DISC.VFF SAMPGCTA.DFF and DISC.VFF SAMPMEDS.DFF and DISC.VFF SAMPUIGP.DFF and DISC.VFF 2. FTP the new files from ftp.silverplatter.com login as user anonymous and use your e-mail address as the password. 3. Change to the directory TRAINDBS, this directory will contain the following subdirectories: SAMPBOIP SAMPGCTA SAMPMEDS SAMPUIGP 4. Set transfer type to 'binary'. 5. Transfer the files from each of above directories to the corresponding database directories on your ERL server. For example: ftp the files SAMPBOIP.DFF and DISC.VFF from the SAMPBOIP directory on ftp.silverplatter.com to the /sproot/nodes/disk#/traindbs/SAMPBOIP directory on your ERL server. 6. Change the owner and group of all files to erl. chown erl * chgrp erl * 7. Change the file permissions to 644. chmod 644 * 8. Confirm that the owner and group of the two downloaded files are erl. 9. For SCO and Solaris, be sure filenames appear in all uppercase. The file names must appear in uppercase for the database to install. 10. AIX Specific Instructions 1. Login as user root 2. Mount the Database Resource CD 3. Copy the contents of the Database Resource CD to a hard disk 4. Change all of the filenames copied from the Database Resource CD from lowercase characters to uppercase characters For example: # mv s9aa.dir S9AA.DIR 5. Change the ownership of all the Database Resource CD files copied to the user erl 6.
